Did you know that parfait means "perfect" in French? This morning, I ate a little granola and yogurt parfait and remembered when I had this breakfast. On our last day in Seattle this summer, we decided to try the Portage Bay Cafe. I wasn't too hungry, so I went for the parfait, which actually was ridiculously enormous (Britt enjoyed the same). Homemade granola, dried fruit, nuts, vanilla yogurt, honey, and mixed berry compote... it was amazing. They also had a table set up in the middle of the dining room as a "toppings bar," so we were free to add all the freshly picked berries we wanted (see berries in the background).
